Oh wow, it's been a while since I updated this thing, huh? Well, a lot has been happening anyway.
I'm closing in on college graduation. At time of posting, it's just about a month away, and to be honest, it's blowing my mind. I'm facing so much change right now that I can't even process it well without breaking down some. So, I choose not to think about it instead. It's easier that way. I'll sort through things when it's all over.
What's the most scary bit of all is I don't know what's going to happen after school. I don't have a job yet, and I don't know where I'm going to be because of it. I have several friends who, apparently, know exactly where they will be for one reason or another. Some know because they haven't graduated yet, or aren't in school at all. Some are because they just know where they will be working. I would like to know now, but so far, nothing. Well, that's not entirely true.
I had one place contact me within mere hours of my application, but they wanted to fill the position by March and I don't graduate until May. And another place gave me an interview, but it was the first of three and I didn't get a call back. Oh,and I did get a rejection e-mail from a game company in the UK, but I admit, that was a long-shot. A dream, but it was not meant to be I suppose.
Other than that, nothing. I don't even know how many places I've applied to. I know it's easily in upper twenty to low thirties, possibly more. I even read a news article that said employment for college grads was on the rise, to which I had to laugh. If it is, I haven't noticed.
But first thing's first. I have to survive my last semester, and more importantly, senioritis. I didn't actually develop a case of this debilitating disease in high school, but man am I feeling it now. I suppose part of it is that I'm int he homestretch and I know I won't have to go to school for another four years. It's making it really hard to care, but I've gotten most of the assignments I could do early done, so it's not as big of a deal.
In between classes, my roommate and I have a list of things (shows mostly) that we want to finish before the semester is out. I don't know how much of it we'll actually get done, but we've already been able to mark two things off the list (Samurai Deeper Kyo and Elfen Lied. We had started SDY last year whereas Elfen Lied had been started freshman year, so we just re-watched the whole thing). Other selections to be finished include Supernatural (which we are currently working on), Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Gurren Lagann, Saiyuki, and .hack//sign. There are a few others on the list, but that's most of it.
I think it's partly to keep our minds off the impending doom, I mean separation. Just another month. And then it's out into the real world...scary.
